This past weekend, Piedmont Community Services (PCS) hosted a vibrant and impactful event in honor of National Recovery Month. As we look back on this day filled with connection, support, and education, we are reminded of the power that community plays in fostering recovery, healing, and hope.
National Recovery Month serves as a reminder that recovery is possible for everyone. It highlights the need to support those in recovery, reduce the stigma surrounding substance use, and promote treatment and recovery practices. At PCS, we are committed to empowering individuals on their journey to wellness by providing resources, peer support, and compassionate care.
An Event Built on Collaboration and Community
The event featured booths from various organizations dedicated to helping individuals in their recovery journeys. Our Peer Recovery Support team had an outstanding presence, offering invaluable resources, connecting individuals to services, and sharing personal experiences of recovery. Their unwavering dedication to helping others break the cycle of addiction is inspiring and a cornerstone of the work we do at PCS.
As we reflect on the day, it’s clear that one of the most powerful aspects of this event was the overwhelming sense of hope. People from all walks of life—whether in recovery, supporting a loved one, or working in the field—came together to celebrate the strength it takes to overcome addiction and the resources available to help along the way.
As National Recovery Month continues, we encourage our community to keep engaging in these vital conversations and to reach out for help when needed. Recovery is possible for everyone, and together, we can create a future filled with health, hope, and healing.
Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, community partners, and participants who made this event a success. Your efforts are paving the way for a more compassionate and supportive community.
